Storage/ Dowry bags from the nomadic Banjara tribe outfitted into pillows.

The bags were originally made of hand block printed fabric in natural dyes with hand embroidered stitching, creating an overall quilted effect. The colors and patterns of these bags are symbolic of the Banjara community.

With all our vintage pillows, we remain mindful of the artifact and choose not to alter them. A flap enclosure with ties has been carefully created to secure the insert without changing the original form of the bag.
